Tonight is film night at the Franklin Hall in Spilsby.

The feedback from last years' Community Event highlighted the need for a cinema in the town - something the town hasn't had for a number of years. The Spilsby Community Lead Plan Group has been working on ideas for a pop up cinema in the town - and this is the initial event which will hopefully lead to others to follow.

Spilsby Sessions House has been forced to close its doors after more dry rot problems were found in the theatre bar.

The blow comes ahead of eight events planned over the festive period and the announcement of the theatre's programme until May.

The start of Christmas in Spilsby is upon us, with the town hosting its Christmas Market and Switch On event on Saturday 25 November 2017.

After last years' Christmas lights switch on and Christmas Market organisers are aiming to make the event even better.  The event in 2016 proved very popular with locals and people travelling into the town.

Shoppers in Spilsby ‘deserve better’

That is the opinion of local traders, including fish seller Kevin Loadman who says, 'Shoppers deserve better'.

East Lindsey District Council is currently running a British Food Festival promotion, with discount vouchers available to encourage shoppers to buy home produced food at local markets.
