A 42 year-old man from Skegness is critically ill after a collision on the A52.

Emergency services were called to the A52 at Friskney, at the Sea Lane Barley Mow junction, at 6.45pm on Tuesday evening (15 November) following a collision between a black Volkswagen Caddy van and a Yamaha 125 motorcycle.

The rider of the motorbike, a 42 year-old man from Skegness, was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital suffering from serious head, chest and leg injuries and he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Volkswagen is a 56 year-old man from Mareham On The Hill who received hospital treatment for minor injuries. The road was closed until approx 11.30pm.

Anyone with information about the collision, or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, should contact the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.

Police would particularly like to speak to a blonde-haired young woman driving a dark coloured mini, who alerted police in the area to the incident and who may have been an important witness.

UPDATE:

The rider of the motorcycle sadly died on Wednesday evening. He has been named as Richard Parkin of Morris Gardens in Skegness.
