Potential traders can try their hand at running their own stall on Spilsby Market for just £10 per day during January and February.
The District Council-run markets are the ideal springboard for those who have thought about running their own business, whether it be food, clothing, gifts or something entirely different, but have found the overheads associated with a traditional shop premises to be too high. The offer is valid for markets in Spilsby, Louth and Horncastle.
The Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration, Councillor Craig Leyland, said: “Our popular markets already benefit from an established customer base, attracting people from further afield and giving traders the ideal opportunity to showcase their business to a wider audience on their own terms – whether this be once a week or several days each week across all three markets.”
And, all new regular traders who stand from January or February are also eligible to be considered for the National Market Traders’ Federation First Pitch Scheme which the Council is again supporting during 2014.
Under the scheme from May two new traders will be sponsored by the Council and given free stalls, reduced rents, and the services of a business mentor for a year.
