Local residents can now subscribe for green waste collections to start during the fortnight following March 31.
The new green waste service will see a return to the all year round service that was highly valued in some areas when the change to seasonal collection was introduced. It will also save the Council in the region of £800,000 a year in the face of further Government funding cuts and will help to safeguard front line services.Councillor Steve Newton
East Lindsey District Council
East Lindsey District Council is launching the service, costing £25 for the year, which will empty your green waste bin every fortnight during the 2014-15 year with a two week break over Christmas and the New Year.
Once you have subscribed you will receive a letter with full details including what time to present your bin, your collection day and a sticker for your bin.
Collections for anyone who subscribes by March 3 will start in the fortnight after March 31. Residents can still subscribe after this date but the start date may be later. Take up of the service has already led to more than 2,000 residents subscribing to the service so far.
More information can be found on the East Lindsey District Council website.
