Schools and community groups are being called upon to help ‘flag up’ this year’s SO Festival.
Bunting and flags created by children and groups will be used to decorate the towns taking part in the annual celebration of the arts.
As part of the SO Let’s Get Crafting Heritage, Health and Wellbeing Project, Pauline Taylor, of Infinite Arts, will work with schools and community groups to create small flags and bunting.
Pauline said: “The bunting can be inspired by the creator’s home town, heritage or history, or just something that makes them feel happy.”
A whole range of diffenet techniques and materials can be used to make the decorations.
The bunting will then be used to decorate the towns involved in the festival from June 25 to July 5, including Skegness, Spilsby, Alford, Horncastle, Louth, Woodhall Spa and Mablethorpe.
Workshops with Pauline are free and sessions are available to book during March 23 to 26 or May 11 to 18. Bookings will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
If you want your school or community group to get involved, contact SO Festival co-ordinator Katie-Louise Green on 01507 613449.
The festival will be delivered by Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, a partner to East Lindsey District Council.
