A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in the Newtown area of Spilsby.
Officers attended a house in the Newtown area of Spilsby at around 11.15pm on Sunday night following reports of a domestic-related incident at the address.
On arrival, it became clear to officers that it was a serious incident and the man was preventing police access to the house. Also present inside the home was a woman and a 9 year-old boy.
Trained negotiators and specialist response teams attended the incident, along with other emergency services including Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and the Ambulance Service.
Shortly after midnight, the woman and the child were taken to safety via a ladder from an upstairs window.
The man voluntarily left the address at 2.30am and was arrested for affray and threats to kill. He was taken into police custody.
Chief Inspector Jim Tyner said: “Although this incident happened quite late at night, the local community will have been aware of a significant police presence in the street and I’m sure this may have caused some alarm amongst residents. Our priority is always to achieve a safe resolution without injury to officers or the public and fortunately that has been the case in this instance. Residents that are concerned about this incident can speak with officers on patrol in the area”.
