Article Written By: Lincolnshire Echo

Students from the King Edward VI Academy in Spilsby celebrated a strong set of A-level and BTEC post-16 results.

Principal, Dave Lancaster said: "Year on year, our sixth form results are on a very positive trajectory.

"This year nearly three quarters of our business studies students achieved one of the very top grades, and we saw very pleasing results across all the subjects we teach.

"These results are also testament to the brand new facilities that we have been able to offer our students this year.

"Last September we opened our new purpose built sixth form centre, giving our students a fantastic space to learn and socialise in.

"This is enabling our young people to get the grades, confidence and skills they need to go to the very best universities and colleges."

Among the top achievers were May Guest, Cally Cheetham and Jake Seal who swept the board with merits and distinctions.

May said: "My ambition is to become a teacher, inspiring people just like my teachers have for me.

"I am delighted that I have secured the grades I need to study history at the University of Lincoln."

Thomas Higginson also achieved the results he needed to study business and marketing at the University of Lincoln.

He said: "I'm really pleased. It was very stressful, but I got there.

"The teachers were very supportive and it was really good to have our own space to study in a more grown up environment, I think it really helped."
