Have your say on the future of your fire and rescue service

With just over a month left to take part, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is encouraging people to have their say on how its services are delivered in Lincolnshire.

As part of an 11-week public consultation, ending on 16 May, feedback is being sought on a number of proposed changes to the way in which the service operates.

The proposals include:

  • Key strategies for reducing risk in Lincolnshire (IRMP Baseline Document 2016 - 2020)
  • Changes to the crewing system at Lincoln South Fire Station
  • Changing the number of Rescue Support units
  • Changing the location of an Aerial Ladder Platform
  • Developing the Joint Ambulance Conveyance Project
  • Introducing a cost recovery process for attendance to unwanted fire signals
  • Service priorities for 2016/17

Next week, a number of events will be held across the county. Residents are invited to come along to view the proposals, ask questions and put their suggestions forward. The dates are:

  • Fire Service HQ, South Park Avenue, Lincoln, LN5 8EL on 11 April at 6.30pm.
  • Grantham Fire Station, Harlaxton Road, Grantham, NG31 7SG on 12 April at 6.30pm.
  • Skegness Fire Station, Churchill Avenue, Skegness, PE25 2RN on 14 April at 6.30pm.

Alternatively, residents can share their views by following the link to the Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) consultation and filling in an online questionnaire at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/lfr. .

Nick Borrill, Acting Chief Fire Officer for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, says:

"We are keen to hear the views of local residents on our proposals for 2016/17 and would encourage as many people as possible to come forward and give us their comments.

"As we are within the 11 week consultation period, we would encourage people to either come along to one of our events or to fill out a questionnaire available on our website.

"All feedback will be considered in due course before any final decisions are made on the proposals."

If you are unable to access the consultation online and would like to receive a copy by post, please call us on 01522 582222 or email communications@lincoln.fire-uk.org
