People living in remote rural villages are benefiting from a special delivery – a new mobile post office service. Coningsby Post Office now has a brand new mobile van to resume a direct weekly service in seven villages – covering 185 square miles.
Lincolnshire has been revealed as the area of the UK which relies on technology the least. 196 people were surveyed in the county about their attitudes to modern gadgets and a high proportion said they could happily live without them.
Residents and businesses in Spilsby may see some changes to the post delivery times over the coming weeks. Royal Mail has announced new delivery methods are being introduced and delivery routes have been reviewed to modernise and improve the way it operates.
Royal Mail will be undertaking a survey in the Spilsby area to increase the accuracy of their database of postcodes. The survey will enable Royal Mail to increase the accuracy of the databases which are sometimes used by companies, such as Sat Nav manufacturers and delivery companies, to help locate addresses.
According to new research published by the BBC, the Spilsby area is still a 3G not spot. The BBC has undertaken a project involving around 44,000 volunteers from across the country, providing over 1.7 million hours worth of data, to map the coverage provided by mobile phone companies across the country. As part of this, the results have been published on a searchable map.
