A thoroughly enjoyable day awaits visitors to this year’s Spilsby Show which is being held on the Spilsby Recreation Ground, off Ancaster Avenue on Sunday 12th July. Entry prices are just £3 for adults and £2 for children/concessions.
The organisers have worked all year to ensure that a wide variety of entertainment is on offer. The main arena is packed full of displays and includes the not to be missed Heavy Horse Show. Judging commences at 10:30am. This is always one of the highlights of the day. Very few county events continue to uphold the Heavy Horse tradition but the Spilsby Show is proud to continue this long established competition.
The main arena entertainment also includes displays by Hundleby Equestrian, Storm UK Martial Arts Cross Training School, Higashi Judo Club and concludes at approximately 4:00pm with the Grand Parade. A vast array of vintage exhibits ride around the main ring as owners proudly show off their classic cars, tractors and motor cycles.
There is plenty of entertainment for the children as well. Two huge inflatables slides, the famous vintage cake-walk, hook a duck, swingboats are just some of the attractions attending. There is also archery, face painters and for the first time, Juggling Jim will be joining us with his circus workshop.
As this year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota will perform a flypast (weather permitting)!
Entry is just £3 for adults and £2 for children and concessions.
There is extremely limited parking for the public on the showground. Free parking is available on the Vale Road Industrial Estate, where many businesses allow parking on the Sunday. It is just a short walk to the showground – just follow the signs. Visitors can also park at the King Edward VI Academy on West End. Both of these car parks are served by a free park and ride service).
