Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward after a local woman is seriously injured after a collision on the outskirts of Spilsby.
The collision occurred on the road between Spilsby and Halton Holegate around 3pm on Wednesday (15 June) and involved a 40-year-old local woman and a 70-year-old man from Horncastle.
The local woman was airlifted to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries, and the Horncastle man was treated at Boston Pilgrim Hospital and later discharged.
Police were diverting traffic away from the area and the road remained closed until 9pm.
The collision occurred in the 50mph area of the road – an area where complaints have been previously raised about excess speeding – but it has been stated that there is nothing to indicate that either vehicle was speeding in this case.
Police have requested that any witnesses who have not already spoken to officers should call 101 quoting incident number 278 of 15 June 2016.
