The hugely popular Spilsby Show is held each year on the second Sunday of July and this year it takes place on Sunday 9th July, with the gates opening at 10:00am.
The Show has become one of the most popular events in the local calendar and is held on the Spilsby Recreation Ground, off Ancaster Avenue with a free park and ride in operation, from the King Edward VI Academy and the Vale Road Industrial Estate.
There will be a wide range of attractions at this year’s Show, providing everyone with a vast array of entertainment. There are vintage vehicles, tractors, oil engines, a huge model and craft marquee as well as over 100 trade stands. There will also be the very popular Heavy Horse Show and 6 mile road race.
A variety of events also take place in the main ring, with displays from local organisations, a march by members of the Royal British Legion and the Grand Parade – when many vintage exhibits take to the main arena riding round in front of the crowds.
The event also has a popular Farmers Market, promoting locally sourced goods and a wide range of other specialist products. There is plenty of fun for the children, including a huge fairground section with slides, face painters, rides, archery, fun competitions and this year, for the first time ever, a display of exotic wildlife with the opportunity to ‘face your fear’.
There is also the extremely exciting and incredible prospect of a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster Bomber!
Entry remains at £3 for adults and £2 for children and concessions.
