Students To Star In BBC Musical

Students from King Edward VI Humanities College are to start work on an exciting production with BBC Outreach and BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Students in years 7,8 and 9 will shortly begin rehearsing for a musical show based on the story of a local woman, Priscilla Biggadike, from Stickney, who was hanged at Lincoln Castle in 1868 for allegedly murdering her husband.

Local musicians and BBC Lincolnshire folk presenters, Tom Lane and Dick Appleton, were commissioned to set the local legend to music and the result is a moving account of Priscilla’s tragic story.

The King Edward VI students are practising hard with Liz Lenten, Project Manager and Musical Director for BBC Outreach, to perfect their performance ahead of a special one-off performance at Stickney Village Hall on Saturday 28th January at 4.30pm.

Margaret Reeve, Headteacher at King Edward VI said, “The students are thoroughly enjoying their rehearsals and are all looking forward to the performance.

“It’s such an exciting opportunity for the students to work with professional actors and musicians and I can’t wait to see them in action on the big night.”
