East Lindsey District Council’s 2012/13 Community Grant Scheme will open for its’ first round of funding in April and a series of workshops have been arranged to help organisations who plan to submit an application for funding.

In the coming financial year the District Council has put £134,950 aside for Community Grants across the District. This is in addition to the £2,000 allocated to each of the 60 District Councillors to support initiatives in their area.

Community Grants are available for formally constituted/governed ‘not for profit’ groups that have a specific project that they wish to complete. The grants can fund revenue or capital costs and can range from £250 through the simpler ‘Small Grant Scheme’ or up to £8,000 through the larger Community Grant Scheme.

Although there is no Community Grant workshop being held in Spilsby, there are others throughout the area which help organisations to develop strong applications:

Mablethorpe Community Access Point, Stanley Avenue on April 10 between 1pm and 2.30pm North Somercotes Village Hall on April 11 between 7pm and 8.30pm Louth Pavilion, London Road on April 17 between 7pm and 8.30pm Horncastle Pavilion, Coronation Walk on April 18 between 7pm and 8.30pm Woodhall Spa, Coronation Hall on April 19 between 1pm and 2.30pm Skegness, Arts Room Embassy Centre on April 19 between 7pm and 8.30pm

The application deadline for the first round is May 10, 2012 and a second funding round will be held later in the year.

Grant Application packs can be obtained by contacting the Community Grants Team at community.grants@e-lindsey.gov.uk or by calling 01507 601111.
