Rural communities in East Lindsey are set to receive a massive boost after an investment of £1.5m from East Lindsey District Council into new rural projects.
The Rural Development Programme is designed to support the rural areas of East Lindsey and provide new opportunities in the more sparsely populated areas, where economic activity is low. Local communities and organisations can bid into the scheme to deliver projects that will improve the area’s economy.
Projects that stand a strong chance of being supported are those that increase investment, improve digital technology, support the creation of new businesses including development of social enterprises and other business support that will create local employment in the form of apprenticeships.
Grants of up to £50,000 are available and the money will be targeted towards new projects or projects which increase or expand existing services.
The programme of investment hopes to benefit communities by bringing in more businesses, creating more jobs, and providing more volunteering opportunities.
