A Lincolnshire law firm is urging people to donate food and presents for the Spilsby Community Larder as colder winter weather takes hold.

Sills and Betteridge Solicitors in Spilsby is even using its office Secret Santa to collect donations.

A larder box has been set up to collect items from the public, at its offices on the corner of Ashby Road and Church Street.

Anyone who brings in a donation during December will be thanked with a mince pie.

David Stapleton, partner at Sills & Betteridge, said: “There is a much higher demand for the service than one might expect in this area.

“The items we can receive are in-date tinned foods such as meat, fish, soup, vegetables, fruit; dried foods such as rice, pasta, sugar, tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, long-life milk, biscuits, breakfast cereals, jams/marmalades, spreads, and toiletry items.

The team who run the Larder also explained to us that items of Christmas food or presents would be hugely appreciated by those who are currently struggling.”

The Spilsby Community Larder is run by the community, for the community and is located at the New Life Centre, Church Street, Spilsby.
