Police are warning shoppers to watch their purses and wallets after a spate of thefts by pickpockets in Louth.
At least three thefts occurred during the afternoon of Saturday 21st March whilst the victims were shopping in stores in the Eastgate area.
A fourth person reported that they had stopped someone attempting to remove their purse from their handbag. The offender is described as a female of medium build, approx 5′ 4″ tall, wearing a blue head scarf, dark puffa jacket, brown boots and large sunglasses.
Shoppers are advised to keep handbags securely fastened at all times and to be vigilant, especially in busy shops.
