Residents Face Issues Accessing Services After Council Office Closure

Spilsby residents will have to travel to Skegness or Horncastle to pay their Council Tax and receive other services after today as East Lindsey District Council closes the Community Access Point in the town.

The closure, which is also affecting a number of other Community Access Points across the District will mean that residents have to either go online, telephone or travel to see an advisor face-to-face.

Spilsby’s Access Point is joined in closure by those in Holton le Clay, Alford and Tattershall – with other access points reducing their hours and changing their days.  The Council’s headquarters at Tedder Hall in Manby will also be closed as an Access Point, being retained as a reception for the Council offices only.

Despite the imminent closure there is a lack of information on the Council’s website and Social Media feeds – at the time of writing – promoting the changes and what residents will need to do.

Whilst there are more options for residents to use online services, there are numerous residents who do not have access to the internet and many issues need to be resolved face-to-face – which will result in residents making a minimum 30 mile round trip to Skegness or Horncastle.
