A group of Spilsby students were thrilled to have the opportunity to perform their acclaimed musical once more at the opening of a local market.
The students were invited to put on their rendition of Priscilla Biggadyke at the opening celebrations for Boston Market. Alongside Stickney Primary School, the King Edward VI students worked on the production with the BBC Outreach Team in front of a respectable audience.
Local musicians and BBC Lincolnshire folk presenters, Tom Lane and Dick Appleton, were commissioned to set the local legend to music and the result is a moving account of Priscilla’s tragic story. The audience was treated to a tale that, although heartbreaking, was performed in a way that showed empathy but that was also entertaining.
Margaret Reeve, headteacher of King Edward VI said, “We were delighted to be asked to put on the performance of Priscilla Biggadyke again. We have many students who are passionate about the arts, so they were really excited to be able to perform the show again at the opening of the Boston Market.”
