Spilsby’s festive spirit remained undaunted despite stormy weather forcing the cancellation of the town’s traditional Christmas market. Instead of letting the poor conditions spoil the celebrations, the community came together to move events indoors, ensuring the day was still filled with seasonal joy.
Franklin Hall became the heart of the festivities, its doors welcoming residents and visitors alike. Inside, the space was alive with an array of festive stalls offering everything from handcrafted gifts to seasonal treats. Children and adults enjoyed the lively atmosphere, with the 2nd Spilsby Scouts Group delivering a standout performance of festive songs and campfire favourites that filled the hall with warmth and cheer.
Santa Claus was a firm favourite, greeting children in his grotto and listening to their Christmas wishes. Meanwhile, festive costumes—from sparkling elves to jolly reindeer—added a touch of magic to the day.
The Christmas spirit spread beyond Franklin Hall, with several other venues across Spilsby hosting their events, including New Life, Spilsby Christian Fellowship, and All Wrapped Up.
Although the stormy conditions disrupted outdoor plans, Spilsby’s resilience and community spirit shone through. Local organisations, traders, and volunteers pulled together to adapt quickly, ensuring the festivities went ahead without a hitch.
