Hard-working King Edward VI Year 11 students have celebrated their time at the college in style, after raising funds for a spectacular annual Prom.

Students were able to enjoy celebrity-style treatment at the prestigious Southview Park Hotel in Skegness, after many weeks of fundraising activities, which included a cake stall, staff karaoke and Easter Egg raffle.

The student-led event saw the Year 11s arrive to a ‘paparazzi-style’ backdrop, which allowed them to walk the red carpet whilst having their photos taken by professional photographers, eventually sitting down to a special three-course meal.

Margaret Reeve, Headteacher at King Edward VI Humanities College, which is due to join the David Ross Education Trust in September, said: “The students worked really hard to have their ideal Prom, and it was brilliant to see what a success the evening was.

“It’s important to us at King Edward VI that we encourage our students to do that little bit extra to broaden their horizons, and it was great that they got so involved in creating their own celebration.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching the students during their five years at King Edward VI and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
