Toynton All Saints stretch of A16 to be rebuilt

Works to improve the A16 in Toynton All Saints will start later this month.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “Immediately following on from our ongoing A16 reconstruction works in Sibsey, we’ll be heading north to Toynton All Saints to rebuild another failing section of the A16.

“This two-mile stretch of road will take up to a month to reconstruct, with up to 1,500 tonnes of road building materials set to be used.

“Please note that, as of now, we expect to start these works during week commencing 28th April. However, the actual day we break ground is dependent on when our resurfacing works in Sibsey are finished. This is because the same contractor and construction crew will be working on these improvements in Toynton All Saints, so any delays due to weather or other issues in Sibsey could affect when we start here.

“Once a firm start date is confirmed, this will be posted on roadside signage so people are aware in advance.”

Dates and timeframes:

w/c 28th April for up to one month – actual start date will be displayed on roadside signage once confirmed

Location of works:

A16, between A16/B1195 junction in Spilsby to and just north of the A16/Church Lane junction in East Keal

Traffic management:

Night-time road closure from 7pm to 6am  (weekday evenings only)

Diversion route:

Via A16 / A155 / A153 / A158 / A16, and vice versa

Youth Activities

2nd Spilsby Scout Group

We currently operate 4 sections, for both boys and girls from ages 4 to 14 years old during term times, with extra activities and events at weekends.

We are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, we shoot arrows and air rifles, but we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

We have groups of Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and the newly-formed Squirrels.

Everyone is welcome at 2nd Spilsby. Regardless of your child’s ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it!
