After the recent resignation of Councillor Holland, there is a vacancy for a Town Councillor at Spilsby Town Council.

East Lindsey District Council’s Returning Officer, Robert Barlow, issued the formal “Notice of vacancy in Office of Councillor” following Councillor Holland’s departure to University. This is a formal requirement whenever a Councillor steps down from their role between elections.

The role of a Town Councillor is voluntary and unpaid.

The notice states that if ten electors in the parish request an election by 12th October 2021 for the vacancy then an election would be held for the role otherwise the vacancy would be filled by co-option.

Should an election not be called the process of co-option would begin with interested parties asked to apply to the Council. If this happens then you will be able to find the details of how to apply here on Spilsby Online.
