The refuse bin collection schedule is to change for Spilsby, with some residents waiting nearly a month for a grey bin collection. However, not all residents will see changes.
East Lindsey District Council are in the process of informing residents of changes to the refuse and recycling bin schedules via a tag to be left on the bins shortly and on their website (link below to check yours now).
It appears at this moment that the waste collections for Spilsby will change to a Friday, with the current calendar ending with recycling collection on the 4th January 2011 and black bin collection on the 11th. This is followed by a black bin collection on the 21st January and a recycling bin collection on the 28th January – a total of three and a half weeks after the last one.
The aim of the changes to the schedule are aimed at achieving cost savings of around £100,000 across the District. Residents are reminded that they are also able to take waste to local recycling centres in the mean time if they have excess waste. The nearest ones are Skegness (Warth Lane) and Kirby on the Bain (Tattershall Road).
