A man has been fined after admitting three counts of causing damage to Spilsby shops in March.
Adrian Michael Adams, from Peterborough, admitted to causing damage to Archways Garage, Wisebuys and Imagine just after 2am on the 29th March. At the time Mr Adams was a resident of Hundleby Road in Spilsby. Charges of attempted burglary had been dropped by the prosecution. Mr Adams was identified with the help of the towns’ CCTV system.
When arrested he admitted to police that he had been asked to break into the shops by three youths but was not intending to enter the shops himself. In his defence it was stated that Mr Adams had learning difficulties and had always lived in residential care.
It was stated that Mr Adams had decided to go out for a walk in the early hours when he was approached by the youths.
He was fined £100 and ordered to pay compensation to the three business totalling £513.08, plus a victim surcharge of £15.
