Our recent poll has shown a mixed picture when it comes to awareness of their local Councillors.
The poll highlighted that the majority of Spilsby residents who responded did not know who their local District councillor is.
Out of the 46 responses received, only 4.3% (2 responses) stated that they knew who the local District Councillor is. By comparison 39.1% of responses stated they knew who at least one Town Councillor is, and 34.8% of responses stated they knew who the local County Councillor is.
A total of 21.7% of respondents stated that they were not aware of the identify of any local Councillors at any level. However, there is no test to ensure that those who state they know who the Councillor is does
The poll, which attracted one of the highest levels of responses so far, appears to identify that there is a particular problem with the identification of local residents with their District Councillor, but also shows results that all councils should take note of for the future.
