People turned out in their droves early this morning to commemorate 100 years since the Battle of the Somme at Lincoln Castle. The short event kicked off at 7am, with a performance from the Waddington military wives. Visit Lincoln launch national tourism campaign for Magna Carta anniversary year

A new national tourism campaign has been launched by Visit Lincoln to coincide with the 800th anniversary celebrations of Magna Carta and the opening of Lincoln Castle. The 800 Campaign targets visitors to come to Lincoln in 2015. Advertising has been placed in national newspapers as well as billboards outside Lincolnshire.
