Some refuse collection teams are reporting that some of the more rural areas around Spilsby and Horncastle are inaccessible to their vehicles and as a result they are unable to empty some wheeled bins.
Waste Services Manager, Nick Davis, explained: “As the snowy and icy weather looks set to continue for some time to come, the back log of unemptied wheeled bins is becoming too great for us to catch up on. In an attempt to make it easier for local people to cope if their bins are not emptied, we will do our very best to take any additional waste that has accumulated at the next collection in those areas we’ve not got to. Clearly, it’s not an ideal situation but unfortunately we’ve been left with no alternative.”
The Council is putting information on the homepage of it’s website in relation to service disruptions (link below). Alternatively, local people can call 01507 601111 and speak to the Council’s Customer Services Team.
Has your bin been not been collected due to the weather? Let us know.
