Children at Partney Primary School waved a fond farewell to Reverend Richard Benson during a special assembly last week.
Reverend Benson held weekly assemblies at the school, taught religious education lessons and held the role of governor. The pupils presented a pocket watch as a leaving gift to Reverend Benson, and a pretty bouquet to Mrs Kate Benson, who was a former teacher at the school, on Monday, November 12.
Mrs Benson also continued to provide supply work even after leaving.
“We wish ‘The Rector’ as he liked to be known, the best of luck with his move and thank him for all his support as school governor and his teaching role,” said a school spokesperson.
A leaving service was held at St Nicholas Church in Partney on Sunday.
Reverend Benson and his wife Kate will be moving to enjoy life in Derbyshire and the school wishes them the best of luck for the future.
