Anglian Water have informed customers in the Spilsby area of urgent water main work tonight (3 November into 4 November) between 12 am and 3 am. Water supplies to some properties in the area are likely to be affected.
Anglian Water has confirmed the hosepipe ban will be lifted on Thursday, but saving water will still remain a high priority. Exceptionally wet weather since the start of April has boosted flows in many rivers and largely refilled reservoirs hit hard by the two-year-long drought. Plans for a £40m pipeline that cut across the Spilsby area are set to be unveiled today. Anglian Water has stated that its scheme will increase water supplies to Boston by taking water 40 miles by underground pipeline from the Covenham reservoir near Louth.
