Doctors at Spilsby Surgery are to support junior doctors’ industrial action in December.
The Surgery has stated that their GP Registrars will be taking industrial action on 1st, 8th and 16th of December to highlight their concerns at the Department of Health’s threat to impose a changed contract of employment. They have stated that the change of contract would be unsafe for patients and unfair on the doctors and their families.
The Surgery has confirmed that this will affect routine doctor appointment availability.
In a post on their website the Surgery has stated that “Spilsby Surgery hopes the Department of Health will reconsider the British Medical Association’s request that the dispute is mediated by the Advisory, Concillation and Arbitration Service (ACAS)”.
The Surgery have stated that only their GP Registrars will not be working. All other GPs, Nurse Practitioner, practice nurses and non-clinical staff will be working as normal. There will be no reduction in service regarding emergency requests.
