Police are warning local residents to lock their doors while they are out in their gardens. Sneak-in burglaries do increase when the weather gets warmer, as it has done over the weekend, and people spend more time in their gardens.
Thieves prowl residential areas looking for opportunities where people have left windows and doors open while they are out enjoying the sunshine. In only takes seconds to nip in and steal something. Residents are being urged to be vigilant when they are in their gardens and, where possible, to make sure doors and windows are locked.
