Giant crocheted lions, gobby grannies and a big pig are set to pack a punch across East Lindsey this summer as SO Festival becomes a nine-day, district-wide cultural celebration.
From Friday 22 June until Sunday 1 July, SO Festival 2012 will welcome a varied and vibrant programme of street theatre, as well as art installations, world-class performers and dance acts across towns in the region including; Louth, Wragby, Tattershall, Woodhall Spa, Skegness, Alford, Horncastle, Mablethorpe and Spilsby.
Programmed acts include the Olympic inspired Lionheart exhibition and a theatrical performance taking place in the belly of a giant pig, which will both visit Louth and Skegness. Fantasticalgiant birds, a surreal inflatable lobster, giant bouncing kangaroos and theamazing Alford Morris Dancers will also descend on East Lindsey’s market towns as part of the festival.
The outrageous Granny Turismo is also returning to Skegness this year with a brand new Olympics’ inspired show. These three anarchic grandmas wowed the crowds with their souped up shopping trollies at SO Festival 2011 and are certain to impress again this year as they visit Alford, Horncastle and Skegness.
